PRO PROP PITCH GAUGE INSTRUCTIONS

Thank you for purchasing our Pro Prop Pitch Gauge.

Please install the magnifying site (do not over tighten the screw) that was removed for shipping purposes, before proceeding.

This tool was designed for years of service and with proper care should last a life time.

Before you begin using your new tool, please take a moment to review this manual to become familiar with its use.

Let me begin by stating that the brass tube under the finger nut is for 1/4" shaft props. Removing this spacer allows the use of 3/16” shaft props. The tool will not work with 1/8” shaft props.

Take a prop and bolt it in place.

Make sure that the face of the prop blades are facing down towards the handle.

By unscrewing the handle you can adjust the tension of the center shaft.

CAUTION: Do not over tighten the cinch nut.

Turn the pointer disk so that the pointer is touching the back edge of the prop blade.

Set the pointer so that it is touching the blade at 70% of the diameter from the center of the props hub.

NOTE: The black stepped wheel should be in the home position, in other words the lowest step on the step wheel.

Allow the pointer to rest on the blade and rotate the center shaft with the prop mounted in place so that the magnifying sights red line is zeroed.

Place you thumb up through the center of the frame and in to the thumb cup.

Push up on the thumb cup allowing the pointer to slide up the face of the blade.

Rotate the step wheel to the next step tallest step (1/16 step).

Release the thumb cup and read the degree scale.

Look at the chart (supplied with the tool) line up the measurement in degrees and the step in inches.

You are now reading cup.
